In ancient Chinese and Egyptian cultures, these little statues were thought to be safe keepers of the pottery during the firing process in the kiln.
Here at Sheepcot River Pottery they are placed in our kiln to keep our newly fired creations safe and sound!
Each is made from our unique clay, hand scuptured and painted by our studio artists. Because each is handmade, each has it's own personality. Some of our kiln gods are one of a kind and might not be like the ones shown in the pictures, however, if you order one, we're sure you'll be pleased! All are sold individually.
