About the artists:

Alicia J. Stonebreaker was born in Wielun, Poland and was educated at The Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań and the Kassel Art Academy in Germany. Alicia came to the United States in 1951 and established art studios in Brunswick, Maine and Northfield, Vermont. She utilized a wide range of mediums, including watercolors, oils, pencil sketches, and pen & inks. Alicia’s striking use of colors and perspective for her seascapes, landscapes, and portraits brought her much acclaim. She sketched literally hundreds of charcoal and pastel portraits. Her paintings and portraits have been in private collections and museums for many years throughout the United States and Europe. Her life was short, she passed away suddenly at the age of fifty-one in 1976. Remembered and loved by many people, Alicia’s timeless paintings and sketches live on from year to year.
